What to Expect
If you are dealing with a crisis, feeling helpless, overwhelmed, hopeless, or alone, know there is support for managing life’s difficulties or personal challenges.  Our therapeutic relationship is a journey that facilitates self-awareness and self-regulating strategies that use our combined experiences, education, creativity, and sometimes even a sense of humor. In our sessions, you can expect a safe, non-judgmental, and confidential environment where you are free to explore your thoughts and feelings. I am warm, open, encouraging, and direct when needed.

Personal Note: Outside of my professional life, I enjoy reading, traveling, nature, and spending time with friends and family. I believe in the importance of balance and self-care, and I strive to bring this philosophy into my practice and life.
About Me
Welcome! My name is Andrea Dubkevic.  I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in California. I obtained my license to practice clinical therapy in 2021. I received an associate degree in human services and a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from La Sierra University in 1999. I received a Masters in Social Work, with an emphasis on child and family services from California State University, Long Beach in 2005. The research projects I’ve completed served to gain better skill and knowledge working with family systems. I’ve completed additional training on helping families to address safety risks, build relationship bonds, incorporate positive parenting, and reintegrating displaced individuals back into a family structure. My career path includes facilitating parenting education groups, self-esteem building groups and building coping skills. I have worked individually with children and adults who have suffered from significant emotional and mental health setbacks that impacted their ability to function productively day to day.

My Experience
My experience includes helping deal with highly complex family problems that included abuse/neglect, residual effects of substance abuse and mental health, marital discord and domestic violence. What motivates me is my internal belief that we all can heal, grow, learn and change. I am a motivated person who will be your biggest advocate and cheerleader. It is important for me to build a therapist-client relationship to help you get proactive in your life and take the hard steps to be greater than who you think you can be or where you think you can go. My goal as a therapist is to provide a safe and supportive environment for my clients to overcome their difficult challenges that get them stuck. I provide a client-centered approach where I am here to provide you genuineness, empathy, active listening and tools to cope and process. I am here to help you set goals to create change and growth. I do not limit myself to one type of therapy as I believe every individual is unique and a combination of different variations of therapy can have positive and productive outcomes.  I may combine variations of mindfulness-based approaches, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Humanistic Therapy and Narrative Therapy, among others.

A Little Bit About Me Personally
I am married with a busy household of multiple children, dogs and even chickens. My self-care “me time” includes bonding and spending time with friends and family, building memories and connecting with one another. I also enjoy traveling everywhere. I love learning about people, their culture and their journey. I value the differences in each one of us and love the integration of what each person brings to the table. I was born in South America and immigrated to America at the age of two. I’m extremely proud to be an American and believe in the dream of working hard and playing equally as hard. I aspire to balance life’s gifts for responsibility and leisure. A sense of balance is important to me.

What to Expect
In our sessions, you can expect a safe, non-judgmental and confidential environment where you are free to explore your thoughts and feelings. Together, we will work toward processing your feelings and understanding your experiences together and we will develop effective strategies to overcome obstacles. I am here to walk along side you, with some guidance and support. You have taken the first step to healing by just being on this website and reading this short bio.  I look forward to seeing you progress and succeed.
